The "Share to Flickr" function suddenly stopped transferring tags and descriptions when uploading photos from PSE10. The only event that preceded this error was a prompt to "authorize" my Flickr account (when this prompt happens on occasion, I simply re-authorize my Flickr account and everything usually returns to normal).
Here is what I've tried so far, with various ordering of steps:
Any other suggestions? My photos continue to upload and appear on Flickr, but the hours of time consuming effort I put into tagging and captioning my photos is no longer displayed on my Flickr page.
Thanks,
Garth
Hi Garth I’m not sure why it’s not working but it could be the Flickr plug-in rather than PSE. There is one thing you could try. Before uploading, embed the metadata into the files. You select all images you want to upload in Organizer (shift-click first and last) then from the Organizer menu choose: File >> Write Keyword Tag & Properties Info to Photos
Thanks, 99jon. This action did not solve the issue, but that was a good thought. I also verified via Windows Explorer that the metadata was being written into my other files by adding tags and descriptions in PSE10.
Interestingly enough, manually re-typing the tags into PSE10's "Share to Flickr" input box resulted in the tags being successfully uploaded along with the photos (though new tags were not added to the local photos files via this method, obviously). Of course, this tedius duplication of effort is what I am trying to avoid.
My friend also suggested that the problem could be on Flickr's end. I will contact them as well.
Anyone have any other thoughts?
Hi,
I have tried using PSE 9 & PSE 10 - they both omit the tags when uploading the images to Flickr.
If I upload the same image directly to the Flickr page then the tags are copied.
I am beginning to think that the problem may lie in the Adobe uploader service. When you use PSE to share to Flickr, the images are sent to the Adobe uploader service which then passes them to Flickr. The same Adobe service is used by Lightroom and I believe that has an option to minimize the metadata. I'm wondering if the service has been changed to minimize the metadata by default but we don't have a way of changing the default.
I would be interested to hear if Jon can get it to work correctly on PSE - then I know whether to carry on looking or not. I'm sure that it will work on Lightroom.
I have downloaded the Flickr uploader tool and use drag & drop from PSE to the uploader. If you write the tags to the photos first, they are copied to Flickr.

My PSE 9 stopped uploading tags unbeknownst to me several weeks ago so now I have many un-tagged and un-titled photos in my Flickr. I downloaded and tried uploading through PSE 11 but still am having the same problem.
I always "Write meta data" or previously "Save info" to the files before I upload so I know that's not it.
Any help anyone can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.
I downloaded and tried-out many Photo-Organizing software programs and found that I really like PSE the best but this would kill it for me, there are other options that do the same tricks but not as elegantly.
Thanks,
Joe
I am in the same boat. I am looking for a new program and PSE 11 seems to be the one. But I have tried almost everything I can think of to get the tags to transfer and I don't think it is possible. The biggest clue is that the tags field on the Flickr dialog box has the "Elements_Organizer_11" tag but nothing else. So, I don't know what to make of that.

I've been considering PSE11 as a possible solution as well, although I've already spent way too much money "upgrading" my problems away throughout my decade+ history with PhotoShop Elements. Sounds like PSE11 didn't help JFMJbiz in this regard.
However, if you go the PSE11 route, please update this thread with your results. Thanks!
I bought the full PSE 11 and it works great for organizing and tagging but the TAGS will notexport to Flickr.
After I tag and write metadata to files, I close PSE and use Flickr' uploade which will upload the tags into Flickr. Very annoying.
It appears to be a bug in Adobe's "Share" module and unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be on their radar for fixing.
I like the software but would have bought something else had I known this.
