DPS apps should work on the new HD Kindle Fire. If there are issues, Adobe will likely release a hot fix.

You'll want to create 1280x800 folio renditions along with 1024x600 renditions for the SD Fire. The Kindle Fire uses a custom version of Android OS that doesn't display the 48- or 75-pixel system nav bar in viewer mode. The system nav bar appears only in library mode.

    Hi,

The new kindles fires, including the 8.9" are at a 1/1.6 ratio, where the original is 1/1.71.

Designing for the new 7" would seem to scale up to the 8.9"s, and would only require a small amount of layout change for the original, unless one were willing to live with margins, in which case the same layouts would fit all of the units.

The question is renditions.  If I have the same art for the new 7" and the new 8.9" how do I differentiate the file names?, or will the art scale? Will this be dealt with the same way as the iPad 3?

Since I'm beginning the layout for a large publication, I want to generate the assets at one time.

I also need a way to test the layouts, the new 7" is scheduled for sept 14, but the 8.9" late November, which is roughly my issue date.

    Daniel
