Transferring Photo from one Mac CS6 to another Mac CS6 --> PIXELATED

Sep 7, 2012 7:16 AM

Hey all,

I have attempted to do multiple searches not only on the forums but also on other search engines and I have been unsuccessful.

I have done the following multiple times with same results. Note: I have CS6 on my personal Macbook Pro, my wife’s Macbook Pro and my work PC also running CS6.

I created an original image on MY Macbook Pro using CS6. I saved this image at the highest resolution possible to my computer. I can reopen and at all sizes of zoom there is no pixilation.

I saved this file to a thumb drive (also tried emailing) and opened the file on my wife's Macbook Pro and when I zoom I begin to see pixilation. This can also be seen on the printed copy of the image whereas that is NOT the case on my MacBook Pro.

I attempted the same process to my work PC however I received the same result.

Any ideas as to what I am doing incorrectly that is causing the image to become pixelated on any computer other than my own?

Thank you in advance for your advice and please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

Ryan Fordham

Is this a PSD image?  If so do you have maximize PSD compatibility checked in preferences/file handling?

When you open the image on another computer does it read the same H & W in pixels and have the same file size in mb?

I think you may be seeing the Pixel Grid, and have lead Curt astray a bit by calling it pixelation.

Go into the View - Show menu and uncheck Pixel Grid.

At high levels of Zoom all versions of Photoshop pixelate (show you squares of color).  Example:

    Pixelated:

    With Pixel Grid turned on:
