importing 720p mpg file

Sep 6, 2012 9:24 AM

I am importing 720p mpg2 file into Encore CS4.  I am using Import Asset to pull in this footage.

This file is 1.7GB.

Encore crashes when I import this file.

One of the forum posting asks to update Roxio

http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/kb/General%20Information/ 000070GN&PARAMS=

I went to this site but this link doesn't work.

Any other thoughts how to make it work?

Thanks

See if the link down on this page works. It appears to be a copy of the actual file.

I don't recall the problem being with file import, but who knows.

Jeff, the link in the FAQ page is dead.

    Excellent.

It should tell you which timeline or slideshow the end action is missing.

Just select that timeline in the project panel. The look in the properties panel and find end action. Set it to last menu.

I don't think that message gets any more specific.

I can be a number of things, but, if you haven't already , since you had the various errors before, I would create a new project, with a new name, and do the Encore part all over.

Are you doing a DVD or Bluray?

    >can I edit m2v with audio in Encore?

Use Premiere Pro for editing... Encore is for authoring and writing to disc

I understand, but trimming is editing.

Encore will allow you to do this, but it leads to problems too often for us to recommend it.

If you do attempt it, since it already transcoded, make sure any trims occur on gop boundaries, and that the video and audio are the same length.

I usually deal with this with chapter markers, since I don't trim in Encore. I find the place I want, then, in the monitor control window, use alt-frame advance which goes gop by gop.
