Hi all,
I have been experiencing an issue with the source monitor in several projects built in CS6. Occasionaly, I will double click a clip in the project window, or even right click and 'Open in Source Monitor'. Most of the time this functions successfully and the clip appears in the monitor, but at some point clips, any clip, refuses to open/appear in the source monitor. The source monitor enter a 'frozen' state and will have a strange appearance for example displaying the audio meters from the 'Audio Mixer' tab. It seems the only way to cure this once it has occurred is to close PPro and re-open the project. At this point this is proving to be a waste of time and a kink in an editor's flow.
Has anyone else experience this symptom?
Thanks,
Lindsay
It's an nvidia Quadaro 4000 at performance driver v.305.93

Here are the rest of my system specs, just in case:
Adobe Premiere Pro Version 6.0.1, Total Code for Adobe Premiere Pro Version 6.0.2, Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit), CPU Intel(R) Xeon (R) CPU X5647 @ 2.93 GHz (2processors), Memory: 24 GB Installed RAM
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Not sure if this is relevant to this particular issue, but I did find that I had a couple of media directories within the most troublesome project sitting on a Network drive rather than my internal SSD. I understand Premiere doesn't play well with network linked media. I finally got ot the point where I was able to 'Remove Unused Media' from the project. I also 'Save As' to a trimmed project file and finished cleaning. During the cleanign stages I experienced no further source monitor freezes leading me to believe that perhaps the miscellaneous network media was the trouble maker and not the driver. But am I at the correct driver version?
Thanks,
Lindsay
PrPro does not play nice with networked drives.
Yet. Stay tuned...
