Photo as Background

I would like to use a photo as a background for my front credits. for that purpose I import the photo to the project, put it on the 2nd video line and reduce its opacity to make the front credits on video 1 visible. unfortunately but of course this leads to a darkening of the photo.

 

is there a possibility to use the photo as a background for the front credits without decreasing its opacity?

    Have you tried the other way around... putting the picture on video track 1 and the credits on video track 2?

    Ed's method will give you exactly what you want.

     

    I will explain. With the Title, what we see as black, is really transparent. Where there is no image, what we see in Video is black - the absence of pixels. When you drop the Opacity of your Still Image, you are now seeing black through it, and the Title only has pixels, where you have Text, or Shapes.
