okay. now.
when i create an alternate layout they are both, it seems to me, in the same document. first the original and then the new one.
in the pages view they look to be separate documents, but when i scroll through my edit window they look to be the same document, one after the other.
do i now save each one separately and then delete the layout i don't need, or is there some other process i've missed?
