Version 4 and 10 on same machine

Sep 10, 2012 8:57 PM

I have Photoelements 4 on my PC and just installed version 10.When I connect my camera both versions open. Until I am comfortable with 10 I don't want to delete 4 but want it not to interfere with 10. What should I do so as not to lose any pictures?

    Ask in the PSE forum.

Change your settings so that photos and videos use PSE10 as the default program. You can also use similar settings for your device/camera.

Control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Auto Play

I have no longer PSE4 installed, but the principle is generally the same:

Use the Organizer edit preference (camera or card reader) and disable Auto launch Adobe Photo downloader on device connect.

    That should work.

If not, you'll have to check services in Windows to disable the old version.
