How do I get the link to download Acrobat v7.1.0 to a 2nd computer?

Sep 11, 2012 2:10 PM

Customer service has not been any help per the question about retrieving the link to download the Acrobat v7.1.0 version I purchased.  I no longer have the email for the link, since I changed my email provider.  I've tried everything trying to figure it out, but no luck so far.  Any suggestions?

    Have you got it installed on one machine?  If so then the installation files might be on your system.  Try this link:

    <C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Setup Files>

    The above path is for Windows 7 so in XP it might be:

    <C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Setup Files>

    At the above link there is another folder with lots of numbers.  click on it and you will find the setup files.  Copy these files on to a flash drive and then run the setup file from this flash drive to install it on another machine.

    I don't use version 7 anymore so not sure if this is going to work but it is worth a try.

    This won't help, but there is an important point to make: when you buy and download software, never assume you will be able to download it again. Keep the files - and not just on your hard drive, since there is every chance the drive may break (or the computer be stolen etc.) Write a CD for each thing you buy, and write on the CD the serial number. Anything else is very likely to mean some expensive repurchases.

    Thank you for posting back.  Now make sure you have the backup and the serial number written down somewhere safely so that you don't have to struggle again.

    That is great. Your example points to the importance of registering the product and/or having proof of purchase.
