I need to create a hyperlink in a Word document that goes to a specific page of a PDF file. Is this something that Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 can allow me to do, and if so, how do I do it?
Hi PattieD01,
If you creating a hyperlink you can use "#page="pageno" (put page number witout quotes e.g. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf#page=2)
It would open fw4.PDF in IE at page number 2.
Hope it helps

Pranav,
What version of Office are you using? I'm using 2007. When I click your link, it goes to page 2, but when I set it up with my PDF file, it still goes to page 1. I'm also wondering if it might be my computer, as my old one let me OCR pages after I added Bates stamps, but this one won't, for some reason. My client wants hyperlinks to every entry I make to the chronology, but have been working on this for days and am getting a little frustrated, to say the least.
I had actually tried what you suggested a couple of days ago, with no success, and thought I just wasn't doing it right, but now I think it may be either my computer or my version of Office.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I've tried several PDF files and none of them are working. For obvious
reasons I can't send a medical record, but here is a safe file that I tried
and failed with. ![]()
I even tried repairing my Microsoft program, as well as mt Adobe Acrobat
program, to no avail. Just finished backing up my work to my external hard
drive and was thinking of deleting both programs and reinstalling them.
Sorry, I did not recieve any file.
Just for testing purpose, would it be possible for you to try with any other file. (Say "Download a PDF from Internet which has pages more than one) and try to check with the same.
I've tested the situation on Office 2003/2007/2010. And it is working fine on all of them.
Okay, I'm back and with the same problem.
Here's a link to one of my PDFs. http://C:\Users\pattie\Documents\A Diet plan and misc items\four_dollar_drug_list.pdf One thing I noticed is that my PDFs don't have the http:// at the front of them, (since they are saved to my computer-it was added by the "insert link" above.) so do I need to save my files to another place for them to work?
When I hit the hyperlink I just added it couldn't be found for me, so will try it again leaving out the http:// and see if it works. C:\Users\pattie\Documents\A Diet plan and misc items\four_dollar_drug_list.pdf Please HELP, as I am desperate! I've already bought a new computer and upgraded my Acrobat to X Pro-new computer was needed, but then 8 pro wouldn't upload! Am REALLY getting frustrated!
