option right click to select layers sudenly stoped working also layers are not highlighting

has anyone else experienced this? I have auto select turned on and set to layer.

    On a Mac, right-click with Move Tool to get a menu of layer names.

     

    If you're using another tool, hold down Cmd key and right-click.

    thats not working either, and my mouse right click is working everywhere else

    @conroy thats not working either, I'm wondering if this is some sort of setting issue?

     

    Also I should state I've been useing photoshop for over a decade, I'm not new I simply have an issue of this not working suddenly. restarted my computer did updates to photoshop etc.

    If there is only the transparency grid where you click and there are no Groups in the document then no menu will appear.

    @conroy there are groups and layers I've been working on this file for a while, this started sudenly in the middle of working on it.

     

    I just opened another doc and am not having this issue, so my concern now is I have a corrupted file, and a deadline as well

    Duplicate the layers to a new document. With luck, that'll rescue your work.

    just so you know it was the file, I thought I hit something accidentally while I was working sometimes I'm fast with those shortcuts and do weird things

     

    Yea I just coppied the layers to a new file and I'm back in business, big sigh or releaf, Thanks everyone!
