can not open a pdf attachment

I can not open a pdf email attachment on my lap top but I can on my desk top

What exactly happens when you open PDF attachment on your laptop. Also what is the OS, e-mail client and Adobe Reader version on your laptop.
Can you open PDF's from other locations other than emails like: form your desktop or over Internet in browser?

When I try to open the attachment by using the left clink nothing happens. I use the right click to download the attachment. Then I can open the attachment which I have downloaded.

The OS on the laptop is Windows 7.

Adobe reader is Adobe Reader X Version 10. 1 . 4.

I am not sure what you mean by E-mail Client but it was sent on gmail.

The attachment can be opened on my Desktop which has the same OS & Version 10. 1. 4.

The laptop can open PDF's which are much smaller, I believe size is the problem but I don't how to increase the allowable size.

What email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, ...) are you using?

Hi Tornic,

Since you have mentioned GMAIL, I suppose you are trying to open PDF's in browser itself.
So what browser do you have? Can you open the following link in browser: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_Rel easeNote_10.1.3.pdf

Also once you have downloaded PDF's which were not opening directly from Mail, are you able to open them in Adobe Reader directly?
Also try to drag drop this file back into browser and see if it opens?
