Source Profile (how to determine)

Sep 12, 2012 11:48 AM

Hi, how might I determine, within Acrobat, what Source Profile is embedded?

The last time I looked into this the answer was buried "deep" and not too clear -- hopefully it isn't as complicated.

I know I can drag the PDF into Photoshop and see the tagged Source profile (if I get lucky)

BUT for such basic info for someone who likes to know what colorspace he is working in, I would think this info would be readily available and clear.

You would think CONVERT COLORS would also note the source profile(s), but not so to my dismay...

Acrobat 10.1.4 (Lion 10.7)

In Acrobat X Pro, open up the Print Production panel (under Tools) and select Output Preview. In the Preview menu choose the Object Inspector. Click on the image.

Bear in mind a PDF doesnt have a profile, it may have many.  Each image, each line, each character potentially uses a different profile. Of course, mostly they use the same one, but it means you won't see a place where "the" profile is offered.
