WindowsXP SP3 update won't let me open CS2 programs

I recently had to uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 3 and re-install it. Now, none of my Adobe CS2 programs are working.  I get the error: "An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue.  Please reinstall the application. "  Also, my AVG AntiVirus software keeps saying that Adobe is a threat.  Can anyone help?
