Hi there,
I have VS2010 (10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel) installed on a Windows-XP machine, along with the Acrobat Reader X (Version 10.0.1). When I try to call the AcroPDF.dll without setting the Internet-Option "Display PDF in browser" in my Acrobat Reader, I get an invalidOperationException and a HRESULT E_Fail-error.
Changing back the option in Adobe Reader will fix this immediatly and the DLL works fine. But I don't want this option to be set and so I'm looking for another way to get this running.
Thank you in advance and kind regards

I followed your recommendation and downloaded the Acrobat SDK. I found a sample "AcrobatActiveXVB", which does almost the same as my application. I can open the sample project, but when I try to open form1.vb, I get the same error. With the option "Display PDF in browser" checked, I can open form1.vb and run the sample. My Windows is 32 Bit.
best regards
I removed the reader 10.0.1 and updadet to the latest version, but still have the same problem. When I downgraded to reader8, everything runs properly. But in reader8 the option "Display PDF in browser" is preset und can not be changed. This post (http://forums.adobe.com/message/1920206) refers to the same problem, but unfortunatly the author came up with the same solution: setting that option.
