Fonts?

Sep 13, 2012 9:09 AM

A couple days ago the fonts changed on my Adobe reader.  The font is not very nice and I would like to return it to the original font but can't find where to do that.

The free Adobe Reader cannot change the fonts in PDF files. If that's what you are talking about.

Are you talking about the fonts in a PDF?

Adobe Reader does not change fonts; reinstalling it won't change that either.

Perhaps your zoom setting has changed?

The PDF file says what font to use. Adobe Reader doesn't make that decision, there's no setting controlling it.

Now, if what you see on screen has changed there are some possibilities.

    1. You've made some other change to how PDFs are displayed. For example "font smoothing" doesn't change the font, but affects how clear they seem to be.

    2. The fonts are not embedded in the PDF, so Adobe Reader has to substitute. Perhaps the font used for substitution has gone away.
