I can't get InDesign (Mac running OS X Lion 10.7.4 ) to export to PDF. It gives me "Failed to Export to PDF" with every document I've tried. I've created new documents to test, and still gives error. I've installed the newest patch (Adobe InDesign CS5.5 7.5.3 update for Macintosh - All Languages) but still am having the same problems.
Any ideas? I've searched the internet and can't find any solutions that offer any hope. Thoughts?
The last time we saw this, it turned out to be a font problem, but it could be a lot of things. Take a look at this other thread about failure in CS5.5:
Also, check to see if it works in a new user account, or if it works in the foreground (add the file to a Book, then export from the Book).
I am having a similar problem. I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5 and cannot get InDesign 7.5.3 to export to any format. I have tried several different files, old and new, but run into the same error message (Cannot save "filename." (-5000). I had no problem exporting until a few days ago. Should I reload CS 5.5?
From within ID, I can "Save" and "Save As" successfully but cannot export or save in any other format. Could this possibly be a Permissions issue? I'll see if it'll work from another user account as suggested. If that fails, I think I'll reload the software.
What does the error message (-5000) mean anyway?
If you can save to a folder, but not export to it, it seems unlikley that it's permissions, but who knows. Try the new user, and if that fails too it's time to reinstall. If it works, the problem is in your user. I know I hve no idea waht the error code means. There are a few Adobe people wandering around who might, but we'll probably not get an answer.
