How many instances of flash player can you run

I currently work for a company that distriputes high school sports content on the web. We produce roughly 30-40 events on any given friday during the fall. Our client schools produce over a 100 events live as well. The videos all stream through youtube. I have built a web page that has 16 (4x4) players on it, so that all I have to do is punch in the event ID's for 16 events and hit go. Im using 2 2560x1600 monitors so that I can theoretically get 32 games going at once. The problem I have is that once I get 7 or 8 games going as the page loads up all the flash players, it starts to run really slow then freezes. The page itself isn't freezing but all the games either run at about .001 fps or not at all. We have a 50 mbs pipe at the office so I know its not the bandwidth. What would be the bottle necks in the system?

Interesting, I'll forward this to the video team for their review.  Could you post a copy of this system's dxdiag report so we can take a look at the hardware this is running on?  Additionally, do you notice any difference in behavior with hardware acceleration enabled or disabled?

How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?

Ok, here's a couple of things to try.

    1. What's the CPU usage when you see the the frame rate drop?

    2. Is there a particular number that once you pass the frame rate drops unexpectedly or is there a gradual decrease as streams are added?

    3. Have you tried other versions of Flash Player (10.3, 11.1, etc?)  Did this ever work and then recently stop?

    4. What are the size of the streams?  Can you make sure that your viewing the smallest possible (ie. not 16 1080p streams)?

    5. Finally, what happens if you try and use YouTube's HTML streams instead of the Flash versions?

    Thanks,

    Chris
