Edge Feather Won't Take

We recently ran into problems with the graphics card and motherboard in a computer and replaced both.  The motherboard is the same but the graphics card is a couple steps down from what it used to be.

Now I am trying to get an edge feather to take and it will not.  It is an effect that I used in the project I was working before the graphics card was changed, and now the same project it isn't showing up.

I found some other discussions about this but even those did not help.

I went from a EVGA GeForce GTX 580 graphics card to an ATI Radeon HD 4600 if that helps.

Is this a card issue maybe? I'm running into a few other issues as a result of the card change as well.

My first thought is that going from a CUDA card to a non-CUDA card, meaning going from hardware acceleration to software only, you will see some differences in how things are rendered.

It will affect any effect that was previously rendered by the GPU. Quite honestly if your tech person took your GTX580 and gave you a ATI 4600 you should complain. Doing what was done will cause you too need to render much more often and cause many other various perfomance issues that probably wouldn't occur if you still had GPU accel.

For cs5 here is a list of effects that are GPU acclerated

    • Alpha Adjust
    • Basic 3D
    • Black & White
    • Brightness & Contrast
    • Color Balance (RGB)
    • Color Pass
    • Color Replace
    • Crop
    • Drop Shadow
    • Extract
    • Fast Color Corrector
    • Feather Edges
    • Gamma Correction
    • Garbage Matte (4, 8, 16)
    • Gaussian Blur
    • Horizontal Flip
    • Levels
    • Luma Corrector
    • Luma Curve
    • Noise

    • RGB Curves
    • RGB Color Corrector
    • Sharpen
    • Three-way Color Corrector

    • Tint
    • Track Matte
    • Ultra Keyer
    • Video Limiter

Well that is good news I was going to add more stuff to the list for newer versions but it wouldn't let me edit the post. I work for a non-profit TV station, so I totally understand.

Here is the url where I obtained the GPU acclerated effects etc

Although are you saying that it just looks different or that it doesn't show up as a option anymore?
