Firefox 15, Flash 11.4, Windows 7 - html5 videos/swf do not play

Help me please!  I see that many people have similar issues, but no 2 are exactly alike, but I have tried every suggested solution and nothing seems to work.  Everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago and then nothing worked - no youtube, no flash apps, no swf.  I only use Firefox, but I tried it on IE and Chrome - nothing.  I really just want a solution with Firefox, because it has worked.  In my Add-ons Manager, it shows Shockwave Flash 11.4...and Shockwave for Director.  HOWEVER, when they are enabled I cannot watch ANY youtube videos.  If I disable Shockwave Flash, youtube videos play, except for HTML5 videos.  Regardless if Flash is enabled or disabled, when I go to the Adobe flash test page, it is indicating that I do not have flash installed.  However the Shockwave Player test page, shows that shockwave is installed and working.  I am so frustrated....I have uninstalled and installed so many times, shockwave, adobe, etc. And no matter what I do .swf images/apps do not play at all.  This is the worse, since my work's website (which I maintain) uses .swf.  I did not create them, but would like to see them and it seems to necessary when I try to update the website, because the website maintenance hangs.  Flash never 'crashes'.....

    This does not make any sense: you can watch videos if Flash Player is DISABLED, but not when it is ENABLED?

     

    Anyway, what do you see instead of the expected Flash content?

    Same problem.  Youtube and other flash programmes crash in Firefox 15, but not in Chrome.  So that excludes the video driver issue.

    Can't see YouTube using Firefox 15, Adobe Flash 11 64-bit but can on IE.

    For those crashing, what virus scanners are you using?  Could you do a "about:crashes" in Firefox's address field and give us a couple of crash ID's that correspond in time to when Flash Player crashed?

    I did another uninstall and reinstall of flash.  I now have in my firefox add-ons Shockwave Flash 11.4 and Shockwave for Director.  HTML5 videos and swf still do not play - i get a black screen with HTML5 videos and swf's just do not appear at all.  The weird situation with flash player is gone.  I never see flash actually crash...this has worked fine on my laptop up until about 2 weeks ago.

    In IE9 64-bit. swf images show up as a blank space with a red 'x'.  HTML5 videos on youtube say I need to install flash.  In Chrome, videos don't play at all - big black screen and swf images show up as blank space.  Sorry, but this is just ridiculous and frustrating.

    Your drivers aren't that old, but Intel does have an update available:

    However, I don't think this will help in the case of IE.  You mention that it shows a red x, can you walk through the steps in this FAQ to verify it's enabled properly?

    I will install the Intel update, but I'm with you that I don't think it will help.....

     

    In IE, Flash does not show up in the list of Add-ons, even though it is installed!!!  Verified through Firefox and Windows7.

     

    In both IE and Chrome, this is what I see on the 'about' page - just a blank space.

    I'm using McAfee Security Center. A couple of crash IDs are: http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/about/throttling and http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/about/throttling. I have gone back to Firefox 14 and it seems to be working now.

    I have just done this. Let me know what happens, please. My wife's laptop is having the same problem, and her setup is quite different than mine.
