New images on next slide visit

Sep 18, 2012 1:36 PM

Here is what I would like to have happen, but I'm not sure if it can be done.

I would like to have users go through a course, with no ability to jump around.  On the final page I would like unlock the TOC and allow users to jump around the course and review various topics as needed using the TOC.  The TOC lock/unlock is fine, but here's where I'm unsure.

Initially there is no navigation to allow users to click though the topics, is it possible that when they go back to a slide to reivew a topic via the TOC that there are new next/back buttons visitible on the various slides so that users could click next, back, etc when they are reviewing the topic a second time?

    Hi there

One way would be to hide the playback controls initially. Then, at the same time you are unlocking the TOC, you could reveal the playback controls.

    Cheers... Rick

Which version of Captivate are you using? If it is Captivate 6, it is possible to create shape buttons for Next/Back, that are timed for the rest of the project and have one advanced action on entering each slide that makes them visible. For previous versions, no interactive objects can be timed for rest of the project, then you'd need a different advanced action for each slide, since the buttons will have a different ID on each slide, or you could use the Static button widget that can be timed for the rest of the project and has navigation functionalities.

If you need more details, please mention your CP-version.
