Illustrator Controls not working

In Illustrator, the controls only give one choice. I've tried double clicking and righ clicking but nothing happens.

I'm using the 30 day trial. Are controls ltd. in the trial version?

Nope , you get all the feature in the Trial version.

Can you elaborate on "controls give only one choice" , whaich control and what choices are you expecting.
Also , what is your OS?

Like the rectangle tool, for one. It will not open the box to show the other controls like the circle.
I'm on Windows 7. I was just wondering if it was because this is a trial ?

In Trial version you get all the feature which are present in the licensed software , the only difference is trial last long for 30 days

Can you first click on the tool say rectangle tool and then click again and keep the Mouse button pressed for 2 secs or so , and then check.

Thank you.
I had closed it. I reopened to try your suggestion and when I clicked on it this time, the full control box with the spheres, etc. opened. Guess it was just a temp. quirk.
