Thanks for the reponses. :-) Must be something at my end. :-/

I've checked and it's set to RGB 8 bit. I've tried a blank project in Premiere and creating an image from scratch in Photoshop then importing. I still get the "Error: the importer reported a generic error.".

Oh well, I'll just convert them all to PNGs. :-)

It's only a screen capture (to fix the boom coming into shot ha) so not big:

1920x1080

Also tried with smaller test images and same result. I'm not sure, since noone else appears to have the issue I'm thinking a file must be out of date and a reinstall is required. Will probably try that later when I've got some time. :-)

Yeah PSD's work great for me too, at first I was thinking maybe the resolution was really really big because in the past I have had that cause issues but obviously that wasn't the case this time.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance, but at least PNG works

haha yes no worries, thanks for taking the time to reply. :-)

PNG is fine for now, I'd rather get the project finished than spend time on this. Hopefully nothing else weird will crop up until I'm done! :-)

You probably need a Frame Grab instead of a Screen Grab for your purpose.

PSD is not an option... so how did you get a PSD?

As I see it, you have addressed the major causes of problems with Still Images, Color Mode, Bit-Depth, not populated with Smart Objects, fit Frame Size, etc.

Not sure why PSD's did not Import, but PNG's would.

Glad that you are getting the Project finished, but I am still curious.
