Sep 19, 2012 5:08 AM

Hi I have CS6, Elements 10, and Lightroom 3.6.   I'm looking for a Star filter to work with CS6

Could you please provide an example of what you want to achieve?

I believe OP is referring to this effect.

I wasn't able to find any filters or actions that acheive this effect, but here's a quick tutorial on how to replicate this effect manually: http://arts-photoshop-tutorials-and-more.blogspot.com/2010/05/how-to-m ake-glitter-effects-in.html

You can play around with adjusting the transparency of the lines to get a more "natural" look.

Once you're done creating the star effect, you can make it into a brush by going to Edit > Define Brush Preset...

This is just what you're looking for. You don't even have to invest that $50. Save it to buy the actual 'star-filter' for your camera!

StarFilter Pro or StarFilter Lite by ProDigital Software or Star Effects by Topazlabs are two commercial options

Nice find, Sudarshan. Much more sophisticated than the "Glitter effects" tutorial I posted haha

Photog Orma, I'd give the video tutorial posted above a swing.
