Location Services on ios6

Hello,

Location services do not work on ios6. The app is not even listed in Privacy settings->Location services and the goelocation api always reports muted. This is a major issue since ios6 will be released on September 19th. My app got rejected because of this( i submitted an app with AIR 3.2 which was working fine on ios5). They told me that they (the reviewer) updated their ios to 6 on September 12.So when they send me the rejection i installed ios6 developer preview on my iphone and reproduced the issue to. I tried building the app with air 3.4.0.2450 but the issue remains. This is a major problem for me and i suspect for a lot others. Any workarounds?

    We need a response on this, please.

    Not only are apps not able to clear approval, but more importantly there are apps installed on customer's devices that will stop working when they update to iOS 6.

    I'm in the same situation. This is a disaster for me. Try to fix this bug as soon as possible! However thank you for the work.

    This is the same problem that we saw with the iOS 6 beta, and is unacceptable.

    Hello Everyone,

    Please read on if you’re facing issue with geolocation on iOS 6 devices.

    We request you to try a workaround as below, and let us know if it works for you.

    In your application descriptor, please change the following
    <name>myGpsApp</name>

    to

    <name>
    <text xml:lang="en">myGpsApp</text>
    </name>

    -Thank you very much.

    In a first time this works. But if you publish another time the app for a test on the device, it doesn't work, even if the xml file is still edited like this! Please get back a better solution, or a new version of air sdk as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

    Could you please re-confirm that the second time your app descriptor indeed had this change.

    Also, if you have once accepted (or denied) the Location access dialog (which comes for the first time you launch your application), iOS won't ask for your permission again.

    I confirm. I accepted the location dialog the first time. The second time there wasn't any dialog window and the app didn't appear in the privacy>location menu in the iphone settings. I tried with 2 apps and I obtained the same result. I'm using Flash professional CS6.

    Maybe I'm wrong to edit the xml file. Can anyone tell me the right process to do it?

    Thank you.

    This fix doesn't appear to be working in SDK 3.4

    So is this issue going to be ignored, as it appears to be, or are you actually going to fix it?
