InDesign CS6 just promted me to update my Folio software and now my Adobe Content Viwer is missing.

When I try to preview a Folio, I get the following error message:

Has anyone had this problem?

Can you take a look at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1048646?tstart=0 and try some of the steps suggested in that thread? There are a couple of possible solutions listed there.

    Thanks,

Can you try manually installing the Adobe Content Viewer by going to

    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Installers/AdobeDigitalPublishingCS6/ContentViewer/Adob eContentViewer.air?

    Thanks,

    Neil

Sadly, this doesn’t work for me. On a german installation of ID CS 6 with latest updates, I get the same error: "content viewer missing". I tried to start the content viewer.air installer from within Library/Application Suppoert/Adobe/Installers/AdobeDigitalPublishingCS6 and, after changing its permissions, seemed to succeed in it first. But the installer finished with an error message that translates like "This application cannot be installed due to a wrongly configured installation program. Please consult the app’s author." – which I do hereby. No sign of a content view inside Applications/Adobe …Any hints?

    Thanks in advance

    Uli

Solved it! Turned out the Applications/Adobe folder was write protected. I swear I didn’t do that …!

Sadly, a no go for me. Any thoughts?

Did you check the permissions on the Applications/Adobe folder? In my case they were set incorrectly, so the installer installed initially but stopped with a similar error message when it was trying to move the application into this folder. Or for a workaround: Install into a different folder with correct write permissions and move the viewer into the Adobe folder afterwards, signing in with your admin rights when prompted for.
