Flash videos just keep loading in Firefox & Chrome, except on certain sites like YouTube and Vimeo

Hi guys,

Ever since the end of June, I've been having this problem with my browsers where some videos just show the rotating loading symbol, but never play. Sites that I know still work are: Youtube, Vimeo, CollegeHumor, and BlogTV. Sites that don't work, however, are Sockshare, Putlocker, Mental Zero, and many videos on the Pornhub network. It recently began to work again, but ever since last week, I've begun having this problem again. If it makes any difference, most of the videos that don't work seem to be JW Player videos. Another thing is that shorter videos usually do eventually play if I leave them loading for a few minutes. My roommate is experiencing this same problem on his own computer. I've tried uninstalling flash player, reinstalling flash player, getting an older version of flash player, and nothing seems to fix this problem. Could someone help me with this?

Thanks.

I have this same problem. Started about a week ago. I couldn't play any videos from sites like blip. I figured it was slow connection, server problems... but I just tried an experiment. I let an episode of deep space nine load for over an hour with the little flash thingy circling endlessly and no video playing. Then suddenly the video started playing and the entire video had loaded.

So, obviously there's some setting that's gone wacky. Youtube videos play right away and buffers normally. I'd had this problem on virtually every flash video site except for youtube and Hulu, the videos start playing as soon as they've buffered a little. Same problem on every browser I tried.

And, no I haven't found any real solution.

Haven't tried it, but this wait for it to load thing is working for me. It's taking forever but the videos are playing eventually. Flash is downloading the entire video before the swirling thingy goes away and the video plays.

No settings have had any effect, and strangely downgrading to flash 10.3 had no effect so if it's not flash I can't begin to guess what it might be.

K, number one, this forum is posting spam messages under my user name, and I have to keep deleting it so adobe, fix that issue to because I'm not posting those. And number two...

Blip works. It just takes FOREVER to fully load before the swirly flash thingy goes away and the video plays. And thanfully you get a commercial mid video then the loading takes even longer.

All I can say is try and let the videos fully load until it starts playing because there's no solution that I can find that fixes this problem. The only way I know a video is actually loading with the swirly flash thingy is the lights on my modem are blinking with nothing else connecting.

Again, no problems with youtube or Hulu and some other sites. Videos load up right away.

And, yes, I tried some porn sites and the issue is there to... I just let a porn video load for about 20 minutes and it played.

    @anarchist86ed - I'd recommend changing your adobe.com password asap.

It sounds like these are network issues, especially if downgrading to 10.3 doesn't resolve the problem.  Does this happen with all browsers?  Can you give us exact URL's to try?

Anarchist86ed - It appears that this might be an autoresponse from your email.  I'd recommend running a virus and malware scanner asap.

Caputalis - I had no problems running the video from blip.tv with Internet Explorer, Firefox 15 and Flash Player 11.4.402.265.  The video started playing almost immediately after buffering.  No pauses or interruptions.  Have you tried a browser other than Firefox?

Your link to putlocker.com appears to be broken, most likely due to copyright claims and putlocker removing the video.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hmmm...

Videos are now loading properly for me on SOME sites. Lending evidence to some non flash issue.

Same issues here.  I don't think it's a network issue.  Only happen on my new Acer laptop with a Nvidia 650M video card.  Running Firefox 15 or IE 8.0 with Windows 7.  My older desktop has no issues at all at the exact same time and same video.

Eventually the video will play on the laptop, but takes almost 5 minutes sometimes. Plays right away onthe desktop. Desktop is Windows XP with IE7 and Firefox 15.  I thought it was the Optimus settings, but it didn't make a difference no matter how I set it up.

Some sites load, many don't unless I wait.

Disable the flash plugin that came with the BROWSER.

Type "chrome://plugins" in www box to access for chrome.
