InDesign - when trying to edit link, "file not Found"

Hello everyone...

 

I am running on a windows 7 computer with ID CS6. When I try to click an .AI or (illustrator).EPS link in ID- illustrator says "File not found". So the only way I can open it in Illustrator is to go to the actual folder and drag it in there or "File>Open" from the original folder.

 

This is time consuming when I have hundres of file to quickly go to...

 

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Waht does the links panel in ID have to say about it?

    Hi Peter. Well when I looked into this a while ago but didn't have time to follow through, I had copy or replace some file in the programs file in the illustrator files. I am just hoping someone knows that detail. So I may duplicate this message in the IL discussion forums.
