Acrobat 8 and Reader 9.5

I currently have Adobe Acrobat 8 installed and need Reader 9.5 or greater to access online forms for my job. Unfortunately IE doesn't not seem to recognize that I have Reader 9.5 also installed. I have both installed on a old machine and it works fine. Please help!

    Acrobat 8 and Reader 9 are not compatible. The only versions of Reader and Acrobat designed to be compatible with each other in Windows is Reader and Acrobat X.
