Hey.

I noticed, that this topic is going back here, but I can't find the right answer.

I read the Enterprise Administration GuideFor the Acrobat family of products, but I can't find the reason of my problems.

I know that only from the base versions of Acrobat Reader I can add updates.

So.. I downloaded Acrobat Reader ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/pl_PL/AdbeRdr1000 _pl_PL.msi (I also tried that with AdbeRdr1010_pl_PL.msi)

and the latest update AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp

I run administrative installation msiexec /a adberdr1010_pl_pl.msi and I showed the network share where it should be installed.

then I run msiexec /a "\\networkshare\acrobatreader\....msi and /p AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp

I tried many possibilities (even with full installation file msi and update to run that command that I wrote above) but every time error tells that Update canont be installed because instalator couln't find the program to update, or this update is for another version....

Whad I'm doing wrong?

thanks for help.

First, this statement is not true: "I know that only from the base versions of Acrobat Reader I can add updates." You can start with the latest MSI.

    From the Admin guide:

For Reader create an AIP from the latest available MSI. For example, as of September 13, 2011, you can start with 10.1 (a full MSI installer) rather than the 10.0 MSI.

    1. Create AIP for Reader 10.1:

          msiexec /a <Path to 10.1 MSI> TARGETDIR="AIP_dir"

    1. Create the AIP for the current quarterly patch:
    msiexec /a <AIP_dir\AcroRead.msi> /p <Path to Reader 10.1.4 patch>

    • Try above.
    • Follow the best practices and admin guide.
    • Post your entire cmd line without edits if it fails.

    Ben
