Cost of, discounts for, upgrading a free webBasics site to webMarketing or eCommerce site?

Sep 21, 2012 8:24 AM

Hi,

We set up a webBasics BC site (one of our 5 free sites that come with Creative Cloud) and want to know how much it would cost to upgrade it to webMarketing or eCommerce site.

The list prices are at http://www.adobe.com/products/business-catalyst/buying-guide-subscript ions.html

But is there a discount for creative cloud  users?

Also... how does one accomplish the upgrade?

Thanks!

    Hi,

I believe the entitled sites cannot be upgraded at this stage.

However I'll have someone from our Sales Team confirm in this case.

    Kind regards,

    -Sidney

As mentioned here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2153 , the upgrade workflow is not functional yet.

But there are 2 scenarios for your case:

1.You can use up the 5 webBasics included slots (by taking live dummy sites) -> re-publish your project from Muse/Dreamweaver in a fresh trial site (I suppose you used one of them to build it initially, right?) -> you will get the option to upgrade the site using the standard BC plans (webMarketing/webCommerce in your case, with any billing frequency).

You will also be able to re-use the 5 webBasics slots later on by overwriting the slots with fresh projects or simply deleting these sites to free up the site slots.

    2. You can either republish the project that is now live in a fresh trial site or if you already have a trial site that you want to push live using a higher plan, just let me know what is the URL of that site and I will change the site’s plan in trial mode so you can take it live using a webMarketing/webCommerce standard plan right from the beginning, without using the webBasics sites first.

Please note that in both cases the higher plan is going to be a separate charge, besides your Creative Cloud subscription. So even if you will not receive a discount, the 5 free webBasics sites will remain there to be used later.

Unfortunately we don't have a direct contact from Creative Cloud where we can escalate  these cases, but I can provide a support path that you can access even without having to login:

adobe.com -> Help tab -> Contact us -> Select Creative Cloud in the product dropdown list -> choose a random topic in the knowledgebase field -> the contact support options will be displayed:
