We cannot know. You are telling us nothing about your system and your description of the issue is far too vague. This could be anything from your system not meeting requirements to permissions issues to some networking stuff...

hi

I have the teacher and student edition - am working on a Mac OS 10.7.4...I currently have LR 3 and wanted to upgrade...

is that enough? sorry - don't want to inundate =- but don't want to ignore details

What happens when you try to install Lightroom 4? Or are you asking where you can purchase the upgrade from?

I put in the disc - I went through the various steps towards completion of the installation, and then when I try to re-open it...it wants to re install - I have not received the message to register it, so I think that I am doing something wrong -

both my operating systems (10.6.8 on my lap top and 10. 7.4 on the desk top ) should be able to handle is...I suspect I am doing something wrong...I have the teacher edition so I know that I need to submit the verification - which I have ready to do..h

any ideas??

It sounds like you are double clicking on the installer again. Please go to your Applications folder to locate the program.
