Well, while this is for Mitchell Lopez, it seems that one of Knott's Berry Farm's rides, has issues, and can stand people for hours, 40' in the air.

That is almost as bad as going on the carousel, and finding that one of the horses is infested with "scary snakes!"
Hope that all is well out in SoCal.

Bill,
When we were there last month, my young daughters went on that ride. I refused to go on as I didn't relish the idea of having 300' of air below my feet, in front of me, and on all sides. I used the excuse that the ride seats came in pairs, and there were three of us. (They bought it)
FYI - This was one of the baby rides at knotts. Their extreme rollercoasters were EXTREME. And I was forced to go on them 3-4 times. (The crowds were light and it was a case of walking to the front of the line.)
One roller coaster went from 0-80 in 2 seconds, then went straight up for 200 feet, over the loop, then straight down. 90 degrees straight down!!! the chain around my neck was whipping me in the face as we were freefalling.
Another roller coaster was a 'under the rails" coaster. That means you sit in a seat, hanging uder the rails. It takes you up 150'. We were in the first row of seats. At the top, there was nothing but air. Then it did who knows how many barrel rolls and upside down loops where you are on the outside of the rails.
We went on every ride. <groan>
Mitchell,
I can just imagine some of those, especially after some cotton candy, and a few corn dogs... NOT! ![]()
Ah, the things that a parent will do for their children.
Glad that you guys were NOT on that ride, when it failed - for the second time in a few months.
Take care,
Hunt
PS - when you have a few moments, send some of that SD weather our way - Summer just does not want to break, and we are ready!
For the most of August/September we were in the high 90’s and hitting 100. Even where I am, by the coast, it hit 100. The heat broke this week and it is only in the low 80’s now.
My last electrical bill tripled because of running air conditioning all day (sometimes night). I thought I may as well be in AZ and I should go there.
Then the Zonies could complain about the “Fornies” driving too fast, they dress funny and wear cotton, all those CA plates are taking up parking spaces at the air conditioned movie theaters parking lot, and the Fornies sandal’d feet are indecent because they are naked without socks.
I will Express mail some cool ocean air to you.

If your temps have broken, maybe ours will not be THAT far behind. The weather darlings are now saying "Highs in the 90's." I cannot wait for "Highs in the 80's."
Take care,
Hunt
PS - We were in San Francisco earlier in the Summer, and their highs were higher than what we left in AZ. It is NOT supposed to work that way. ![]()
Steven,
We are in San Francisco (usually SOMA/Union Sq Areas), at least once per month, and often up to 3x per mo., such as October. Two of those trips, however, are just to Burlingame, as we fly in late, and then fly to London the next morning on one, and to Hawai`i, the next morning, on the other. The "regular" SF trip will be in on Sunday, out on Tuesday AM. Normally, those trips are in on Sunday, then out on either Tuesday evening, or Wednesday morning, depending on my wife's meeting schedules.
Normally, we dine somewhat early on Sunday, then wife has meetings at her corporate offices in China Basin on Monday, and sometimes on Monday evening, when they cater for a dinner meeting, or maybe adjorn to somewhere, like Alexander's Steakhouse, for a dinner meeting. Other times, she's free to dine with me on Monday night too, and if we stay over until Wednesday morning, then she often gets to dine with me on Tuesday night too. It just depends.
We're booked for next Sunday - Tuesday morning (short trip), then in Nov and Dec. Oct. we're booked into the Taj Campton, and then the Hilton Burlingame for those other two trips. Nov. is also Taj Campton, but not sure about Dec. yet.
We usually do fine-dining, at say Campton Place, Farallon, AME, and then alternate with several others. If I am doing solo on Monday night, I will usually try for some place new, and if they make the grade, then the next trip will probably see both of us there on Sunday. As many restaurants are closed on Sunday, and some on Monday, a few only get to see us on those Tuesday trips, where we extend until Wednesday AM. Got to try AQ, COI and Saison. Also, need to try Michael Mina's (old Aqua location) again, and also Restaurant Gary Danko (reservations are getting harder to come by).
Drop me a PM, and let me know what your schedule is. I usually have Monday free, and just walk the city. If we leave on Wednesday, then I do the same on Tuesday, as well.
