Project Files constantly becoming Corrupt - CS6

Hi,

I need all the help I can get. Ever since I've started editing on Premiere Pro CS6 (switch from FCP7) I've constantly run into the same problem. For every single project I have worked on, at least twice the project file will spontaneously become corrupt. There are no warning signs, it just happens at random when I open the project. I end up opening one of the auot saves but will usually lose time, and I should not have to rely on these backups as an everyday thing.

I've tried everything I can think of, I've gone so far as to load new harddrives in to my system. I've done fresh install of my OS (10.8.2) and fresh installs of the Creative Cloud. We use CS 5.5 at work with no problems and I've used PPro on and off since the very first Creative Suite and have never encountered an error such as this.

I've had absolutely no problems with After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustartor. Only PremierePro

Thanks.

Here are my hardware specs:

MacbookPro (10.8.2)

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

GeForce 320M 256MB

6GB RAM

120GB SSD (Holds only OS & Software)

720GB HDD (scratch disk)

Codecs: both H.264 and ProRes at 1080/24p

You might check your computer's RAM. I had a similar problem, and it was due to a bad stick. I don't know Mac, but I'm sure there are free utilities you can run for a few hours to test the memory.

The fix Adobe gave me was as follows (these are for a Mac but I'm sure archeticure would be similar on a PC)

    Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe

Now you will see a collective of folders for whichever adobe suite you have. Go to Premiere Pro and the next folder you should have should be labeled "6.0" change that to "60_old" or some random different label. Try opening up your original project (not the recovery proj) and see if that helps.

    My folder was in Documents/Adobe/Premiere/6.0

But the tip didn't work for me =/

That's a different file structure. Are you on Mac or PC?

I'm on Mac (OSX Mountain Lion). Is something wrong with my setup?

No you're setup is probably correct there is just a difference between the Adobe folder in your documents and the adobe folder in your preferences. Finder > Go > Go to folder > ~Library/Preferences/Adobe and see if that helps.

Are you using any other Red Giant plug-ins? Colorista, Lut Buddy, etc? I've found most of them crash my system. InstantHD, denoiser II, Looks and Grinder are the only ones I can have installed with out crashing premiere for some unknown reason.

Interesting....I have colorista, mojo, and looks. I've seen other threads about some problem beteween red giant plugins and adobe premiere. After they crash your system, do your files get corrupted?

Mine did. It was giving me a "serious error" and then crash the project. Soon as I uninstalled colorista it would open the same projects again.

I feel like mine had some similar issues going on. I won't even bother installing colorista for the time being just to be safe. Anyways thanks for your help, maybe one day this will be solved for good.

Good luck to you. I hope you have an easier time then me. I've resorted to cutting in FCPx until I can go 2 projects without a corruption
