Disappearing cursor in Photoshop 5.5

I am running Mountain Lion on an older iMac (2007) 4 gb ram, and newer (2011) Macbook Pro with 8 gb of ram. Cursor disappears and

will not comeback without click in finder or another program. Huge waste of time. I have spotted any answers that work. Help?

    Hi, SketchM0nkey.

Have you checked to see if all your software is up to date? This includes both OS X and Photoshop. For OS X updates, click the Apple in the top left, and choose Software Update. For Photoshop, you'll find and Updates option under the Help menu.

Let us know how it goes.

I did a bit of digging around, and I came across a few things.

    1. Are you using a Wacom tablet, by any chance? If so, make sure the drivers are up to date. If that doesn't work, try disabling the tablet, and see if the issue still occurs.

    2. You may want to zap your PRAM. Restart your Mac, and hold down the following keys, right after you hear the 'chime'. Command+Option+P+R. Keep holding them down until you hear a second 'chime'.

    3. Once the RAM is reset, repair your disk permissions. Find Disk Utility through Spotlight (magnify glass, top right). Once your in Disk Utility, select your hard drive, and press the Repair Disk Permissions button.

A few Adobe engineers scour these forums, so many one of them knows if this is a common issue.

If you are on MacOS 10.8, Apple has some "disappearing cursor" bugs in their video drivers - especially if you have multiple displays.

    Apple is working on it.

Hello! Just to close this possible solution, the cursor disappears totally, you are not hitting Caps Lock, and getting the less visible precise cursor, right?

I'm moving this question to the Photoshop General Discussion forum for specialized attention to your situation.

PS, do I get automatic notification by joining this thread, or do I have to manually subscibe and if so how?
