Problem completing the installation of Adobe Reader 10X

I am trying to download Adobe Reader 10X to my computer which is running Windows 7. I turned off my firewall and started the download. I selected "Run," and "Run" it goes through the process and asks me to finish, but I never get the window that asks if it can change my computer to accept the program. Now I see the icon in my programs, but its not working I still can't open my PDF files. What should I do?

    Do you have an Adobe Reader icon on your desktop?  Can you open the Reader from there?
