I am trying to download, the # of hours continually changing,ex.46 hour then 41 then 49

I am trying the download this program for a class,  it seems fairly simple, but I have spend many hours on the task and am getting nowhere. The screen displays 48 hours till completion then 41, then 47 and stops,  Please advise!  Thank you
