What's the catch?! CS6 and an unlimited number of DPS, Single Edition apps?

Sep 24, 2012 8:02 AM

Hello Guys

I have just read that with Creative Cloud membership you can get CS6 and an unlimited number of DPS, Single Edition apps to publish to the Apple App store!

So in British (£) this is £328.08 per year because we already have CS5.5. You also need to pay the developer fee of $99.

So what is the catch?! Can you update the app after it has been approved and published by apple?

Also, I work with three other designers. Can all of us get CS6 or are you limited to a number?

Does anybody have any negative feedback on this before we think about signing up?

Many thanks

Gemma

There is no catch and there’s absolutely nothing negative I can say about it.

As long as you have a full understanding of what Single Edition is you’ll be happy. If you’re expecting to put out subscriptions that’s not going work…these are self-contained apps.

Quick question: as a freelance designer, can you create single edition apps with a cs6 creative cloud account for your clients?  Or will the clients also need a cs6 creative cloud account to publish the apps?

The client should certainly have their own Apple Developer account but I know of no restriction on you creating apps for them.

Adobe will be more than happy to sell you four subscriptions to Creative Cloud.
