Hello,
I'm starting InDesign 5.5 in OS X 10.8.2 and whenever I start the app, it hangs.
I've taken a sample via Activity Monitor and have pasted the result here: http://pastebin.com/ppAhY4b5
I've tried deleting SING and Adobefnt*.lst, which has not helped. Oh, and I've also run "sudo update_dyld_shared_cache -force" to no effect.
Forcing a crash and posting that would help, too. See Adobe Forums: InDesign CS5.5 Not Responding for instructions.
Did it ever start properly? If not, it probably never wrote the prefs, but hers' how to repalce them: Replace Your Preferences
If you want to try reinstalling, that's a valid thing to do, too, but I'd try a new user account, first, to be sure it hangs there, too, or you're just wasting your time. If it works in a new user, see Adobe Forums: InDesign crashes at startup for a list of other files to try removing from your first user account. If you need to reinstall, run the clean tool first: CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3
