Unable to install Adobe Muse

Hi there. I'd very much like to try out Muse (I'm a paying Creative Cloud member), but I'm about to say to hell with it. Muse refuses to install. Here are the steps taken.

Ran the Muse installer throughApplication Manager. Installed. Clicked Launch App. No response. Search for muse, only found uninstaller. Uninstalled 99mb of invisible Muse.

Read forums. Deleted opm.db. Re-installed. No change in result.

Uninstalled Air. Re-installed Air. Re-installed Muse. No change in result.

I grabbed the system log which show an error with the "migration signature validation"

Any help would be appreciated.

Here are details:

Hi Everyone,

To anyone who is having install problems on Mac, please follow these steps:

1) Ensure that Muse is completely uninstalled: drag Adobe Muse from the Applications folder to the trash and empty the trash.

2) Download Muse from the following link: http://adobe.com/go/muse_latest_mac

3) Install

Please note that this build won't work if Muse is already installed; you must uninstall previous versions of Muse first.

Thanks,

Colby

I'd like to add that I am having the same exact problem. OS X 10.8.2

My thought is that they must have updated the installer within the past few days and let a bugged version through.

Thanks for taking the time to gather information and report this problem! My apologies that our installer is being such a pain for you. That log is extremely helpful; it's definitely an issue related to our most recent update and this is the first time we've heard of it. I'm struggling to reproduce the problem on my side, so I'll need a little more help from you. Is this the first time you've ever installed Muse? Did you ever install any older versions of Muse on this machine?

Thanks!

Brian

Hi Brian,

In my case, this is the first time I've installed Adobe Muse. I just subscribed to Creative Cloud yesterday (very happy with it!). Everything else appears to have installed properly, but I'm still working my way through all of it.

Hi, Brian.

I have the exact same problem. I downloaded and installed Muse, or so I thought, but was unable to launch it. On my HD I can only find the uninstaller. This is my first time downloading Muse. Using OS 10.8.2.

I might have installed the preview, but I really can't remember. I'm running 10.6.8 so it's not just a mountain lion issue.

Are there some old preference files I could look for?

Thanks for looking into this!

Hi Everyone,

Please try the following steps.

1) Uninstall Muse completely (Remember to empty the trash if Muse has been dragged there).

Hi Colby,

This tip won't work for me, the Muse package is said "corrupted" by Air Installer. All my softwares are up-to-date, and I've trashed everything related to Adobe Muse from my computer. We've enrolled today for this software, is an update planned ? When ?

Thanks for your help,

I'm having the exact same issue. What I've tried that hasn't worked:

  • Download/install of Muse via Adobe Application Manager
  • Download/install of Muse via the Muse page on Adobe.com
  • Download/install of Muse from Colby's direct link above

I've also tried uninstalling/reinstalling Adobe AIR, still nothing.

When installing from AAM there are no reported errors in the Muse install log (from /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers/), however clicking "Launch App" does nothing.

Same problem here, I am using OS X 10.8.2

But this is interessing because 10 days ago I installed the Muse from AAM on my Mac Mini and it is working.

Now I try to install on my Macbook Pro OSX 10.8.2 and I cannot install Muse.

I try from AAM and from the link of Colby, and is giving here the same error:

Sorry, an error occured.

Application couldn't be installed, because the installation file is corrupt. Try to obtain a new installation file from the Application Editor

Is it bugged the installer? I try to install indesign from AAM and install and it is working. But Muse no way, I try severeal times, several ways and nothing.

Is it corrupted the Muse installer? If it is, can adobe fix it?

same here on osx 10.7.4 trying to update Muse through the app manager and also using the details above. nothing working.

Im a creative cloud member, but have been using Muse since it was first released, so i have a fair few little projects on the go.

Are Adobe goign to Fix this? or do we have to work it out at our end?

this is almost the exact Scenario i was hoping Creative Cloud would eliminate. As we head towards terminal computing i was thinking we'd be looking at seemeless and trouble free app instalations...

Hi Everyone,

Please remember to completely remove Adobe Muse before trying the direct download. Make sure there is no entry in Applications, and empty the trash.

If this still doesn't work, please do the following:

1) Open up Console (do a spotlight search, CMD+Space, for "Console")

2) Select "system.log" under Files on the left

3) Type "Adobe AIR" in the upper right

4) Copy/Paste the contents of the window into a blank text file, save the text file.

5) Send this text file to muse-support@adobe.com, along with a link to this thread.

Thanks,
Colby

I am having this problem as well. I tried redownloading the Muse app per your instructions above, but every time I do it says the installer file is damaged. I've downloaded it multiple times. Same error each time. VERY FRUSTRATED. I'm late to a meeting where I'm supposed to demo the site I've been working on. And I'm trying to download it to my laptop so that I can take it with me!!! HELP!
