I received Photoshop CS6 for Christmas - can I load it on both my desktop and laptop

Yes, you can install and activate on a maximum of two computers provided they're both the same platform. i.e. 2 x Windows or 2 x Mac OSX.

You cannot install one copy on a Windows computer and one copy on a Mac OSX computer unless you're a Creative Cloud member.
