Does running Photoshop CS5 and CS6 cause problems with plugins?

I have Phootshop CS5 (32 bit) and have also installed CS6 (64 bit) on the same PC.  After installing CS6, and reinstalling the plugins, many plugins do not run on CS but continue to work on CS5?  In some cases (Topaz for example), some filters load and others do not.  Any ideas?

CS6 requires updated plug-in versions. Check the websites of the vendors.
