Putting a very old Elements on a Win 8 pc

Years ago I bought an HP scanner and it came with Photoshop Elements.  It doesn't seem to have a version number, but the disc label has a copyright symbol with dates 1991-2001 (so it's very old).

Now I'd like to install it on my new pc which runs Windows 8.

I get an error message saying I need Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater to install Elements, then the installation aborts.

What should I do?

The version is so old that it's unlikely to install and run satisfactorily on a modern operating system like Windows 8.

Your best bet is to invest in a new version of Photoshop Elements 11.

Hi John.  That's what I feared. Guess I'd better start checking that out. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
