I have Internet Explorer, Windows 7. When I try to view a Youtube video, the screen is hazy and says "The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback. Get the latest Flash Player." I have downloaded it, made sure that I have the right one installed, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, checked to see if it was enabled, cleared the history and cookies and caches, had shut the laptop down and turned it back on. So far none of those have worked. I am only able to view very few videos and some games I am not able to play even though I have the Flash Player downloaded.

I have experienced the same beginning just a day ago when trying to view YouTube vids linked from Facebook. I keep getting prompted to load the newest version of Flash, which I've done 4-5 times. Each time the load is successful. Went through Adobe "help" diagnostics, still no fix, yet confirmed the newest version is in fact installed. Try to watch another vid from FB? Says I have to load the new version and won't allow the vid to play. Oye. Also, now when viewing vids directly from YouTube, I can't watch in FULL screen, just Mid and Small. Two days ago I had no probs at all.
Do I need to launch Chrome to get it to work??

Can you both try reverting to the 10.3 release of Flash Player to see if that resolves the problem for you?
How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?
Thanks,
Chris

The instructions imply a need to fully uninstall previous versions, with so many complicated steps I glazed over trying to follow it. My response to that is - I give up. There's got to be any easier way to install an older versionm, right? I'm not tech and this stuff is not really well understood by me at all. I just use the box and hope it always works.

Me too, me too! Got all this fancy new stuff, Windows 8, Adobe 11, Internet Explorer 10, and none of it works and older versions cannot be put back unless you have a tech degree. Heeee, heee. We've all been taken for the $$$$$ If helpful, I did get a little help with managing internet security and other options on the Explorer toolbar thru Microsoff office chat.
