Installing photoshop Cs6

Hi, I have recently brought photoshop cs6 extended student edition for mac. I have regisited the software online and recieved the serial code via e-mail after being approved. Upon trying to install the software it comes up with a window saying installer failed to initialise. I have used adoibe support adviser and it keeps saying no errors were encounted.. Please help
