Illustrator CS2 and Acrobat Pro refuse to install. I have two drives and they (Illustrator and Acrobat Pro) keep installing on the other drive that I am not using. I was able to install Photoshop and InDesign CS2 on the current drive (they are also on the other drive). I tried to uninstall Acrobat Pro that appears on the current drive and the uninstaller refuses to do it. I cannot find either app on the current drive.
What is going on?

Nobody can tell anything without some system info. "Other drive" means nothing without knowing any of the details.

Thank you Jeff,
The problem began when I needed to reinstall CS2. Because it is no
longer supported by Adobe, I was referred to a site where I could
download versions that did not require an activation code. I tried
several times to use the downloads but was not very successful.
I tried one more time and was able to get Photoshop and InDesign to
install.
My G4 Power Mac had two internal drives. The original 250 GB and a
newer 500 GB drive. I am currently using the 500 GB drive where I am
trying to reinstall CS2 because when I tried to use it I was told the
activation number was not valid.
Acrobat professional and Illustrator are part of the suite. I cannot
find Acrobat professional and Illustrator will not install. I am told
that it is already installed. Somehow it is seeing it on the other
drive which is not the active drive.
So, when I tried to install the Illustrator part it says it is
installed (it is installed on the 250 GB drive). When I try to
install Acrobat professional I cannot find it on the download page.
When I sometimes open pdf files it asks for the serial number and will
only take the original serial number. It sometimes opens the files and
I can print them and sometimes it opens them but when I ask it to
print, I get a blank page.
I was having problems with Adobe and my scanner so I archive
reinstalled OS 10.5.8 and the scanner software (HP) and also got a
new HP laser printer (the old one died). Also, a new Airport so my
husband could access the printers. I am still having a problem with
this connection and need to reinstall the HP software on his powerbook
as it will not print double-sided. His machine is Intel and has a CS5
but he uses it for business.
I also use Canvas 10 (the last Mac version) which I reinstalled and
every time I open a file it tells me there is something wrong with the
file and I need to save it as another file. I have some graphics that
I need to do with Canvas but don't know what to do about that problem
either.
That is what has been going on.
I believe you helped me to get Photoshop and InDesign installed. I
used the serial number from the download website but it does not seem
to work for Illustrator.
I hope you can at least help me solve some of these problems.

Oh yes, the powerMac would not start but we installed a new battery
and it seems to be working now.

Beadyfeet you will need to disconnect the drive which already has Illustrator installed. The CS2 installer will locate the software on any mounted drive. In fact even if you have the application in the trash can it will still detect it as being installed.

So, if I remove CS2 from my other drive (250 GB) it should install on the 500GB drive OK.
But what about adobe professional? Is that a part of the CS2 suite?
Adobe pro came on a separate disk with a separate serial # when I put CS5 on my husbands PowerBook .

Yes or disconnect the 250 GB drive. Please also see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1195856 and the original discussion http://forums.adobe.com/message/4919014#4919014#4919014 for more details regarding installation of CS2.
