HDS-Live playback stops after some time

Hi all,

I've got a problem with the HDS-Live setup using ams 5 and OSMF 2.0. after few minutes (different intervall all the time) player stops playback and doesn't continue. In the chrome's network connection panel I see that player requests only Bootstrap files and not the actual segments any more. Even if I wait for 5 minutes segments don't get requested and playback doesn't continue.

Anyone had similar problem, or know of any solution?

Really strange but modifying the cache parameters in Apache config has resolved the issue.

Hi

When the playback stops, do you see a 304 being returned for a bootstrap?

Yes, exactly. every time the player requests a bootstrap it is returned ad 304 not modified.

The cache parameters are the default setting set during installation of AMS 5

I had a similar problem and it turned out that I had to delete the files created on the server after every live stream.

Go to <Application folder>\applications\livepkgr\streams\_definst_\livestream and delete all the files in this folder.  If you are using a different stream name than livestream the go to that folder.  I came across a document from adobe that said that when a HDS-Live stream end is does not delete the dynamically created files and each time you start a new live stream if you do not delete the previous files you will get behavior like this.
