I am creating a Table of Contents in FrameMaker 9. The first page formats correctly with leader dots and tab stops for page numbers but the subsequent pages do not.

I have checked the paragraph tags and the reference pages...help!

What master page is assigned to the first TOC page?

What master page(s) is(are) assigned to the subsequent pages?

A popular way to get this outcome is to:

  • use a double-sided page layout,
  • special master page for the first TOC page (such as 2-column), and
  • forget to modify the standard Left and Right MPs to match
(or alternatively, to have special L/R page layouts mapped)

This is often caused when the width of the text frame on the master page that fails is narrower than the width of the text frame on the master page that succeeds.
