ColdFusion stops rendering pages - need help troubleshooting

We have a ColdFusion 10 Standard server out in production on an IIS 7.5 Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter virtualized environment. Randomly throughout the week, requesting our page will result in a blank white page (viewing source shows absolutely nothing).

I remoted into our server and noted that coldfusion.exe was taking up 730MB. I don't track these things so I don't know if that's a lot or not. And usually restarting the service takes 15-20 seconds. This time it took 20 seconds to stop the service and about 30 to start it.

I am not familiar with which logs to check in order to provide some useful information, but if anyone has an idea of where to send me looking, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Aegis,

What is CF10 update level? Has isapi_redirect.dll been updated either manually or with WSCONFIG tool?

Does CF10\cfusion\logs\coldfusion-out.log or CF10\config\wsconfig\N\isapi_redirect.log report any errors or warnings?

Update 11. I've updated the isapi_redirect.dll manually.

I'm not at work at the moment, but I'll get back to you on those error logs. I know for a fact that there are a TON of errors for the coldfusion-error.log file, but I'l check the ones you specified and get back with you on what errors messages are there. We learned of the white page issue at 3PM EST today, I'll check around that time for errors.

We have Groupwise WebAccess on this server (Novell's web-based email web application). It seemed to terminate around 3PM, and CF followed shortly thereafter. Not sure why a task "misfired". As for the dual-license keys, our key was registered for 2 servers (our public web server, which is this log file, and our private intranet server). So I think that's just a false positive.

Not used Groupwise WebAccess myself so do not know. 3PM CF terminated, well that does not look good. Think "misfired" task and license warning are nothing to worry.

Could Groupwise WebAccess stopping bring CF down? Where I have CF configured to email through MSExchange stopping MSExchange/SMTP does not overly effect CF except for CF failing to spool email not halt CF entirely. If you schedule Groupwise WebAccess shutdown does CF stop?

Well, on the face of it, CF10 and GW WebAccess do not work with one another due to a problem with them both wanting to hard-coded-ly use the jakarta folder, however both make use of different isapi_rewrite.dll files.

We contacted Novell and their tech was gracious enough to take a look at this and actually modified some CF worker files to "integrate" GW with CF, so they both are using the jakarta folder that CF is (seems GW was using a built in Tomcat 5.x server and CF 10 uses a 7.x version)

So maybe because of this, GW has the ability to stop CF if it encounters and issue?
