Flash Player 11.9 r900 crashes

Why did Flash 11.9 r900 start crashing on every link and Web page on IE-9 and Firefox? What can I do to stop and correct this? I use Windows Vista on my Dell laptop.  The pop-up error message "A problem caused Adobe Flash Player 11.9 r900 to stop working correctly"; and then "Data Execution Prevention closed it" pops up multiple times on every page of either browser I use.
